Adults in the lifestyle (SDC-shaped) and kink (FetLife-shaped) communities. One product, two surfaces — your interest weighting at signup sets which tab is the default, but both stay available. Couples are first-class profiles, not workarounds. See how it works. New to the words? The glossary explains kink, BDSM, swinging and ENM in plain English.
Safety is treated as a wedge, not an afterthought. Every piece of content can be reported in one tap, reports are reviewed by humans, and every moderation action ships a Statement of Reasons with an appeal path. Automated media-scanning partnerships are being added as the platform grows. Read the full posture on /safety.
Nothing, right now — creating an account and using the platform is free. When paid tiers arrive, the plan is a freemium tier (browse, RSVP, basic DM) plus a small paid tier for premium discovery filters and event ticketing. No 36-month auto-renew; one-tap cancel; 7-day no-questions refund will be the policy across paid tiers.
MongoDB Atlas in eu-central-1 (Frankfurt), with multi-region replicas added as user count justifies. Sensitive record-keeping data is kept separate from the main database with restricted access. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Yes. Deleting your account removes your profile, content, connections, and messages from the platform. It starts from your settings, no support ticket needed. GDPR-shaped by design — and if anything lingers, one email to support gets it purged.
FetLife’s biggest failure is opaque moderation: bans without reasons, shadow-fades, no appeals. The platform commits to Statement of Reasons on every action (DSA Article 17), one-tap appeals to a different moderator, 72-hour response SLA, and quarterly public transparency reports from launch. The plan is public; the enforcement is public; the appeals work.
Messages are encrypted in transit and at rest, and we never mine them — no ad targeting, no model training. Moderators see a message only when a participant reports it, and you choose what to include in a report. Full end-to-end encryption (MLS, RFC 9420) is on the roadmap, and we won’t claim it before it ships.
PWA-primary at launch. Modern Safari and Chrome support full PWA install + Web Push notifications; you can add the platform to your home screen and it behaves like a native app. A Google Play sanitized variant is planned for later. Apple’s App Store policies are hostile to platforms in our category, so a native iOS app is not on the immediate roadmap — and we frame it as a privacy feature, not a deficiency.
A platform with fake users is a platform that lies to you. The cold-start strategy is partnering with real community organizers to list their existing events for free. Everything you see — profiles, events, venues — is real. We’d rather show you four real people than four hundred bots.
Right now there are no payments on the platform at all — joining and using it is free, so there is nothing to process. When paid tiers arrive, they will run on adult-industry-experienced processors (CCBill-class, with a backup), never on mainstream processors that ban adult content, with crypto rails as deplatforming insurance.
The platform is 18+ only, and you confirm your age at signup. Accounts found to belong to minors are removed immediately and reported where the law requires. Vendor-based age verification (Yoti-class providers) is planned as regulations in each region require it, and EU eIDAS wallet flows will be adopted as the standards mature.
Yes — it’s live now, and joining is free. Start the signup flow and you’ll have an account in a couple of minutes. The community is young and growing — you’re early, and that’s the honest pitch.
