Unicorn dating that treats the third as a person, not a prize.
Coywink is a private dating site where couples looking for a third and singles looking for a couple find each other on purpose. Profiles say what each person wants, and a single’s yes counts exactly as much as a couple’s.
Over 18 only. A handle is all anyone needs to know you by.
How couples and thirds find each other here
- Thirds who want this
- Couples: set Account type to Solo, then gender and orientation. Relationship finds singles who describe themselves as single, solo poly or ethically non-monogamous.
- Couples who want a third
- Singles: set Account type to Couple. Group play in Interests narrows it to couples who say yes to more than two.
- Not only women
- The word is used for bi women, but a third can be anyone. Gender is a filter here, not an assumption.
- In their own words
- There is no “seeking a third” field. People say it in their bio, which is why a profile is worth reading before you write.
From a profile to the first drink
- Two kinds of profile
- Thirds sign up solo and choose who sees each photo and each entry. One of you signs up as a couple and invites the other by handle or email. Nothing links until you both accept, you each keep your own login, and either of you can unlink later.
- Interest
- When one of you shows interest in someone, it goes out only after the other confirms in the app. Neither of you can say yes for both.
- The match
- When interest runs both ways, it is a match, and your messages land in each other’s main inbox. A first message from anyone else waits in requests until you say yes.
- The first meet
- A drink, all three of you, somewhere public, with no expectation. Some thirds prefer to meet one partner at a time first; ask rather than assume.
Before you meet
For couples
- Write as two people, not as a couple interviewing a candidate. The third should hear from both of you.
- Say your rules early: what is off-limits, whether you play only together, and what happens if feelings grow.
- Do not ask a third to be attracted to both of you equally, or to date only you. Ask what they want.
- A third’s no ends the night, the same as either of yours.
For thirds
- Ask who decided to look. A couple where only one partner is keen is a couple you will end up standing between.
- Ask what happens if one of them gets jealous, before it happens.
- Meet in public, tell a friend where you are, and leave whenever you like.
What we do not have yet
Said here so you do not have to find out after signing up.
- A “seeking a third” field. For now, say it in your bio and with the Relationship and Interests picks.
- A native iOS app. On your phone, Coywink is the installable web app: add it to your home screen and it behaves like one, with notifications.
- A crowd in every city. The community is new and real, so some cities are still quiet. Nothing is seeded to look busy.
Questions people ask first
Why is it called unicorn hunting?
Because couples looking for a bi woman who wants both of them, and only them, often find such a person rare. The phrase is also used critically, for couples who treat a third as a fantasy to fill rather than a person to meet.
Can a man be the third?
Yes. Gender is a filter, not a rule. A single man joining a hotwife couple is sometimes called a bull; for a man joining a couple as an equal third there is no settled word.
Do I have to show my face?
No. Photos are optional and each one has its own audience. Your name is never asked for, and your location is your city, never your street.
Is Coywink free?
There are no paid tiers yet, so everything on the platform is open to every member. If it is not for you, one page in your settings deletes your account.
